Me & Barry

It all started on Saturday, May 20th, 2000. I woke up at 6:00 a.m. to get ready to go to the all-day concert at Westfair amphlitheater called Sweetstock 3. I could've never imagined what the day had in store for me! We left the house around 7:00a.m., my friends and I. I started to get excited on the way. We got there around 8:00. We had a long time to wait. The gates did not open until 10:00. We got in earlier than everyone else. When we got in, We ran down close to the stage. I went in the pit to first row. I stayed in first row for like the first five hours of the concert, and I took real good pictures of the bands that played while I was in first row. When I got out of the pit, (which was very good timing), I saw my friend and she told me that ten minutes from then, Jank 1000 was playing on the local stage. I'm so glad that I got out when I did, or else I wouldn't have been able to see our men play! After they got done playing, I went back to where our blanket was. I was sitting there, and all of the sudden my friends mom told me that Barry Williams was up by the gate next to the stage. I got up and ran up there. To let you know, I love Barry! And, if you don't know who he is, he is the guy who played Greg Brady on the Brady Bunch. I always have watched the Brady Bunch ever since I was little , and this was going to be awesome actually meeting one of the grooviest guys ever! Well, atleast thats what I thought......

I was up there, and it was my turn to meet him, and he said that he had to go back in.(the other side of the fence) I was so upset you did not even wanna mess with me! I asked the lady from Sweet 98 if she could go and tell him that I had to meet him and stuff. She told me that she could not even go back there. (Behind this fence ,was only for V.I.P.s only, remember that). Well, I stayed by the fence, and I wasn't going to leave until I met Barry. I told the lady that. Well, 5 mins. later , a guy I know, Jay from Sweet 98 told me that he would see what he could do. He never did anything. After he came out, another guy from Sweet 98 that I know, J. D., said that Barry was going to come out again in a little while. Well, an hour passed by, and J.D. came out again. I asked him about Barry, and he told me that he was resting, and he'd be out in a few minutes. Well, I waited another hour, by then, I was waiting three hours. Then, J.D. came out again , and he saw me and told me to hold on for a second and went back behind the fence. Five minutes later, he peeked out of the gate and told me to come in. I was so shocked I started crying because I knew what was about to happen......

As I opened the gate I saw his face. Our eyes met and I began to cry even harder. He looked at me with such a sad face, and asked me what was wrong , and told me that it would be ok. When he asked me that, I answered,"I Love You!"He just looked at me and smiled. Then he said, " So J.D. tells me you have been waiting a very long time" I just laughed and said "yes". Then he asked all kinds of questions about the Brady Bunch and about me. All I could do was say, "uh huh". Then I asked him if he could sign my shirt , and he said of course! I felt special because he usually only signed his name, but on my shirt he put "Rena Love Barry" so I loved that!!!!!!! Then I asked him if I could get my picture taken with him, and he said that he would love to. J.D. took it, well he took two. And I told him thanks. Barry then said wait, one more! I was freaking out.

That's when it happened! He leaned over and KISSED ME ON THE CHEEK for the picture and I about died right there! He then started talking to me, and after A while he told me that he had to get back. So we parted, and I was the happiest person on earth! Later on, I saw him again. He remembered me from before. I bought a book he wrote there and he signed that for me too. As he was signing it, he asked me," Rena' with an "a" right"? I said oh my gosh yes!

He remembered how to spell my name! Some of my family can't even remember that! So now I am in love and will always have fond memories of Me and Barry!!!!!!!!!!! To let you know, people think this is different that I like him because I am only 15!!!!
